My Feelings

I have been a little discouraged lately about this blog. I know some of my ideas might seem a litttle “out there”, I am just trying to start discussion. I am going to make smaller post in an effort to post more and leave subjects more open ended. Although I am still going to post my opinions I will try to make post more as thoughts and not essays on what I think. I would love to have discussions about a better world. I am idealistic, sometimes out of the realm of reality, but I know things can be better and change is not happening at a pace I think it needs to be. Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to read me in the past, present, and future.

Integration

I was thinking as I looked around my neighborhood that the world would be a better place if rich and poor lived closer together. Let both see how the other half lives and not be so closed minded to possibilties that exist. I know most rich people would not go for it, but in a perfect world? There are things to be learned from both sides and it would be great to explore them.

Warming Emissions

So global warming is real. It is an excepted fact in the scientific
community. So why isn’t more being done about it? Why are there so
many obstacles to becoming more environmentally friendly? This is one of
the most important issues of our time, yet there is really not much
being done. In this post I am going to focus on reducing emissions; something important to talk about that I am not addressing in this post is ways to filter carbon and produce more oxygen (i.e. planting trees).

Another Post About Goals

Reparations

Reparations is a word tossed around by people that have been wronged by history, but rarely taken seriously by those that should be giving reparations.

News and Money

A check in American government that is lacking now is the media, especially the news media. In the past it served as one of the checks that kept the government from
being tyrannical. Now it serves the interest of corporations and the
wealthy. If there was an instrument to balance this it might not be
too bad, but there is nothing more powerful in this day at swaying
people’ opinions one way or another than the media.

Man’s Duality

So how can we have one without the other? Light without dark, joy
without pain, good without evil… And on it goes. So here in lies the
problem for utopia, the balance of life and the duality of man. So what is this duality? Our basic fight between our animal and civil selves. Our fight to do right, yet be at the top of survival.

To the Choir

So how do you get a message to the masses and not end up just
preaching to the choir? How do you get it heard? How do make people
understand a different way of thinking? This is a major issue when
talking of a different world.

Civil Service

To be a civil servant by definition is to work for the people. It can be both an
honor and a privilege. Some civil servant jobs like president or
congressman, to name just two, give great power. To be a civil servant
means that you work for the people, so how do we rid these positions
of corruption? This is the question I pose with this post.
